| Encirq To Present Data-Centric Software Strategies for Delivering Differentiated Offerings at IPTV and Beyond |
| Session details innovative technology approaches for enabling compelling user experiences and expanded revenue opportunities for service providers |
| BURLINGAME, CA, April 17, 2006 – Encirq Corporation, the leading provider of data-centric software for intelligent devices, announced today John Smolucha, vice-president marketing, will speak at IPTV and Beyond, April 19-20 at San Diego Marriott Del Mar, San Diego, CA. Mr. Smolucha will host a 50-minute session titled, “Successful Software Strategies for Delivering Differentiated IPTV Offerings” on Wednesday, April 19 at 5:40 p.m. Encirq is also co-sponsoring the event. |
| Developing the software that drives the underlying IPTV experience is a critical challenge. More content means more choices for consumers. More choices mean more complexity. Service providers and equipment manufacturers alike are looking for innovative technologies that enable accelerated deployment of award-winning applications. Breakthrough applications, like adaptive electronic program guides and hyper-targeted advertising, can make it easier for consumers to navigate the myriad of available choices, customize individual preferences, and for service providers to create new and expanded sources of advertising revenue. |
| The session includes a case study involving a recently launched hybrid service that delivers both digital terrestrial broadcast content and IPTV from a single set-top-box platform. The software applications that drive the user experience were developed in record time with far less engineering resources than previous projects. The result is a platform for interactive applications that provides a common user experience which can be deployed across a variety of different networks and equipment. |
| With over 15 years of industry experience, Mr. Smolucha possesses an in-depth understanding of the challenges facing service providers and their software partners. Prior to Encirq, he served as the director of business development and Strategy for the Wireless and Mobile Systems Group at Freescale Semiconductor, where he was responsible for building wireless developer communities. He also served as the vice president of marketing at Metrowerks, a leading provider of device software development solutions. |
