ENCIRQ and Wind River Partner to Deliver on Device Software Optimization
ENCIRQ and Wind River Team to Help Device OEMs Develop Better Products ENCIRQ CTO to Present at Wind River 2005 Worldwide User Conference
BURLINGAME, California—May 23rd, 2005—ENCIRQ Corporation, the leading provider of high performance data management solutions for embedded systems, announced today that ENCIRQ and Wind River (NASDAQ: WIND) will work together to provide enhanced, integrated solutions that reduce the complexity, risk and cost of developing intelligent, data-centric devices.
“Great products are the result of innovation and optimization. Getting such products to market is increasingly complex and is forcing device manufacturers to seek out new technologies for simplifying and accelerating product development” said Mark Vogel, chief executive officer, ENCIRQ Corporation. “ENCIRQ’s customers have found it easier to develop award-winning products in record times. And now the combination of the ENCIRQ Data Foundation Framework together with the Wind River Workbench IDE and its market-leading platforms will enable Wind River customers to deliver new data-driven product capabilities and services while reducing development costs and time.” the first results of the ENCIRQ – Wind River partnership is the availability of the ENCIRQ® Data Foundation™ Framework with integrated support for the Wind River Workbench IDE. This enables Wind River customers to leverage the powerful data management capabilities provided by ENCIRQ within the familiar Wind River Workbench environment. In addition, the ENCIRQ Data Foundation Framework has been tested with the Wind River General Purpose Platform, VxWorks Edition. As ENCIRQ products are designed to be platform-independent, support for other VxWorks Edition and Wind River Linux Edition platforms are planned.
“We are pleased to have innovative companies like ENCIRQ work with us to deliver on Wind River’s vision for device software optimization,” said John Fanelli, vice president, product planning and management, Wind River. “As the complexity of software development soars, device manufacturers need a rich ecosystem of synergistic partners dedicated to helping them meet the challenges of providing new, more innovative and more reliable products to their customers.”
Solutions from both companies support a wide range of microprocessor architectures and help abstract software development away from underlying hardware platform details. This enables device OEMs to migrate away from proprietary, in-house software implementations and take advantage of the benefits provided by robust commercial solutions form ENCIRQ and Wind River. As a result, OEMs can focus more of their software development efforts on optimization, differentiation and innovation.
ENCIRQ’s chief technology officer, Eugene Buechele, a recognized expert on data management strategies for embedded systems, will be presenting at the Wind River 2005 Worldwide User Conference (May 22-24, Orlando, Florida). Mr. Buechele’s session titled, “High Performance Data Management Solutions for Intelligent Devices,” will demonstrate ENCIRQ’s integration with Wind River Workbench and will help attendees learn how to reduce software development time while leveraging the data that flows in and through their devices to create new capabilities and services.
